MySql -> PHP -> (generated ) XML -> AS3 ( proper formatting )

After ( literally) hours of banging my head on the keyboard I found the solution…

The problem was that the generated XML send by the PHP file had some strange characters ( data was encoded in a URL format ). To solve this little anoying problem you have to use the unscape() function.

var xml:XML = new XML(unescape(e.target.data));
